Document Showing Rauner’s Healthcare Impact

Dear Fund Our Future Coalition members,

As you are aware, the Rauner Administration broke off negotiations with the 38,000 state employees represented by AFSCME Council 31. Rauner is now planning to impose his extreme contract terms on those employees.  Those proposals include huge increases in health care costs—increases that will be passed on to all other state and state university employees who are part of the CMS health insurance plan. We have developed a fact sheet outlining the impact of his proposals on university faculty. I have attached that fact sheet for your information and for you to share with your members. Clearly, every university employee has a stake in this fight  that AFSCME members in state government are waging to resist Rauner’s extreme demands and to gain a fair contract settlement.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

In Solidarity,

Tracey
